Orchids from Hawai'i 

Hawaii is an orchid growers paradise. Varietals are imported from Asia and selectively bred to adapt to the weather and pathogens common to Hawaii. Despite the selective breeding, there are 25,000 species naturally occuring - making it the largest family in the plant kingdom.  

Big Island orchids are planted in shade houses or green houses, and meticulously babied until they are cut and prepared for shipment. 

 The following is a list of cut orchids which we - Big Island Coffee Roasters - commonly ship throughout the U.S. , along with their estimated lifespan:

Dendrobium: 2-3 weeks;  Oncidium: 2-3 weeks; Mokara: 1-2 weeks; Aranda: 1-2 weeks; Lady Slipper" Paphiopedilum: 2 weeks

Anthuriums from Hawai'i 

Initially, the colors are the most striking feature of the anthuriums from Hawaii: pink, orange, green, purple, spotted, red, and white. However, after receiving a box of anthuriums you'll notice that longevity stands out from others. Hawaii's anthuriums can last over 4 weeks with  minimal care. Now thats getting the most bang for your buck!  Due to careful breeding, Hawaiian anthuriums are also safe for people sensitive to scents.
